Institute of Foreign Affairs (IFA)

The Institute of Foreign Affairs is an autonomous research and training institution under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Established in 1990, the IFA serves as a think-tank and training centre for Nepal's foreign policy community, diplomats, and researchers.

Training Programs

Pre-posting orientation for diplomats, language courses, protocol training, and negotiation skills workshops for foreign service officers.

Research & Publications

Policy research, foreign policy journals, working papers, and analytical reports on Nepal's international relations and bilateral ties.

Academic Programs

Collaboration with universities on diplomatic studies, international relations courses, and sponsored research fellowships.

Conferences & Dialogues

Track II diplomacy events, international conferences, bilateral dialogues, and annual Nepal Foreign Policy Summit.
